A twin-filter carbon fibre intake built specifically for the X5 M50i and X6 M50i, designed to feed the turbos cleaner air with less pressure loss and lower inlet temperatures.

The system adds a cold-air feed from the scuttle panel, giving a far more direct route to the turbo inlets and removing the restrictive 180-degree bend built into the factory airboxes. Airflow then passes through Eventuri’s patented carbon fibre Venturi housings with Generation 2 bespoke filters, which keep the flow laminar from filter to turbo and reduce drag through the Venturi effect. Because the intake openings now face the cabin, you also hear far more of the turbos: spool, flutter and pressure release come through clearly under acceleration.

Components

  • Two patented carbon fibre Venturi filter housings
  • Two bespoke high-flow dry cone filters
  • Two carbon fibre twin air ducts
  • Carbon fibre engine cover
  • Two EPDM rear air feeds
  • Silicone couplers
  • CNC-machined bracket mounts

Every part is made from 100% pre-preg carbon fibre for a smooth internal surface and a premium engine-bay finish.

Fits:

  • BMW G05 X5 M50i
  • BMW G06 X6 M50i

Two Lungs for the V8

The M50i hides a twin-turbo V8 under its bonnet, and a V8 breathes through two sides, not one. That is why a proper N63 intake for these cars comes as a matched pair, one feeding each bank, replacing the restrictive factory boxes with open, free-flowing carbon housings. On an engine this size the standard airboxes are tuned for silence above all, and freeing both sides at once lets the V8 draw the air it wants and sound the way it should. For a car that is fast but deliberately muted from the showroom, it is a transformation you both hear and feel.

Carbon That Beats the Heat

Heat is the enemy here, and the N63 makes plenty of it with its turbos sitting in the vee between the cylinder banks. A good BMW X5 carbon intake tackles that directly, using woven carbon housings that are light, rigid, and far better at resisting heat than plastic, so the air reaching the engine stays cooler and denser. The gains come from a few things working together:

  • Carbon housings that shield the filters from engine heat
  • A cooler, denser charge for better combustion
  • High-flow filters sized for a large V8's appetite
  • A finish that lifts an already premium engine bay

Feel It Wake Up

The change is immediate in character. With both sides breathing freely, an X5 air intake upgrade of this kind sharpens the throttle and uncovers the deep, hard-edged induction note that the sealed boxes smother. The engine feels more alert and more eager to rev, giving the big SUV a sense of urgency that suits its performance far better than the hushed standard setup. It is the sort of change that makes the car feel more special every time you drive it, not just on paper.

Same Engine, Two Body Styles

The M50i badge spans a pair of closely related cars, and this kit suits both. Fitted to the SUV it is an X5 M50i intake, and because the coupe-SUV shares the identical engine and layout, the very same parts serve as an X6 M50i intake without any change. One well-developed design covers both bodies, which means it is widely proven rather than a niche item made in tiny numbers, and it takes the guesswork out of choosing for either car. Whether your badge wears an SUV roofline or the sloping coupe tail, the hardware underneath is identical, so you are buying exactly the same quality and the same result.

Made for the G05 and G06

This kit is engineered around the current cars, so it fits their bays rather than being forced to suit. Ordered as a G05 x5 intake, the pair drops in where the factory boxes sat, transferring the sensors across and clamping up on fresh couplers with ordinary hand tools. Round out your N63 setup with the other intakes we stock as the build comes together. Confirm your exact model and year before ordering, and as with any open intake, the gains are modest on a standard car and come fully into their own once a supporting tune is in place.

FAQ

Does this carbon intake fit both the X5 and X6 M50i?
It is made for the G05 X5 and G06 X6 M50i sharing the V8. Confirm your exact model before ordering.
Does carbon suit the hot V8 engine bay better than plastic?
Carbon resists heat better than plastic and looks the part in the bay. That helps keep intake air cooler on a hot-running V8.
Does it keep the factory airflow sensors for the V8?
It should retain the original air sensors so the engine reads airflow correctly. Confirm the kit provides the right ports.
Is it a straightforward fit in the large SUV bay?
The roomy engine bay helps, though a twin-turbo V8 is still a busy install. Review the steps so you know what is involved.
Does a carbon intake change the V8's sound?
It makes the induction note deeper and more present under acceleration. The effect is pleasant without being harsh.
Is a carbon intake worth it on a heavy performance SUV?
It adds engine-bay style with a modest breathing gain on a big V8. Many fit it for the look as much as the performance.
