Give your BMW’s low-pressure fuel system the capacity it needs for ethanol blends, upgraded turbos, and serious horsepower. The Precision Raceworks E9x/E8x Bucketed Performance Fuel Pump is a high-flow, E85-compatible fueling solution designed for modified BMW applications ranging from mild street builds to four-digit horsepower setups.
Built around genuine Walbro 450, 525, and 535 fuel pumps, the system delivers substantially more fuel flow than the factory pump while retaining the advantages of a bucketed design. Unlike a fixed fuel pump assembly that may need to be completely replaced as your build progresses, the Precision Raceworks modular platform allows you to start with the fuel capacity you need today and upgrade the pump configuration later as your power goals increase.
Choose the Fuel Pump Stage for Your Build
Stage 2 – 2.6 LPM
Equipped with a single Walbro 450 pump, Stage 2 is an excellent choice for street-driven and moderately modified cars. It supports up to approximately 575 WHP on pump gas and 500 WHP on 100% E85.
Stage 2.5 v2 – 3.9 LPM
A single high-flow Walbro 535 increases fuel delivery for more demanding setups. Stage 2.5 v2 supports approximately 650 WHP on pump gas and 550 WHP on 100% E85.
Stage 3 – 5.65 LPM
Featuring dual Walbro 450 pumps, Stage 3 provides the fuel capacity required for heavily modified and high-output BMW builds. The system includes the necessary secondary-pump wiring and Hobbs activation switch and supports up to approximately 1,000 WHP on pump gas and 850 WHP on 100% E85.
Stage 3.5 – 6.4 LPM
Combining a Walbro 450 with a Walbro 525, Stage 3.5 delivers additional flow without requiring an expensive external pump controller. It is rated for approximately 1,100 WHP on pump gas and 950 WHP on 100% E85.
Stage 3.75 v2 – 7.3 LPM
For builds approaching the limits of a dual-pump arrangement, Stage 3.75 v2 pairs a Walbro 535 primary pump with a Walbro 525 secondary pump. This configuration supports approximately 1,150 WHP on pump gas and 975 WHP on 100% E85.
Stage 4 – 8+ LPM
Designed for extreme-power applications, Stage 4 uses a bucketed/bucketless hybrid layout with three Walbro 450 pumps—two located inside the bucket and a third mounted outside it. This configuration is capable of supporting 1,300+ WHP on pump gas and 1,150+ WHP on 100% E85.
Built to Grow With Your BMW
One of the biggest advantages of this system is its modular architecture. Instead of purchasing an oversized fuel system before your build requires it, you can begin with a Stage 2 or Stage 2.5 configuration and add compatible pump modules as horsepower demands increase.
That makes the system especially well suited to long-term project cars where turbocharger, ethanol content, boost level, or engine output may change over time.
Bucketed Design for Better Fuel Control
Retaining a fuel bucket and factory-style Venturi functionality offers important benefits for street cars and vehicles subjected to sustained cornering. Fully bucketless systems can provide additional unrestricted flow, but they are generally more sensitive to low fuel levels and are not ideal for road-course use.
The Precision Raceworks bucketed system is designed to provide high fuel capacity while maintaining better fuel availability around the pumps during demanding driving conditions.
Kit or Fully Assembled
Choose the configuration that best fits your installation.
Kit Only – Assembly Required
Designed for experienced DIY installers who want to reuse their existing fuel pump assembly. The system can be assembled at home using the supplied instructions, eliminating the need to ship your factory assembly away for modification.
Fully Assembled – Drop-In Ready
Prefer to minimize installation work? Select the fully assembled option and receive a new, completed pump assembly prepared for installation. This is an ideal choice for professional shop installations or anyone looking for the most convenient solution.

Important: Precision Raceworks specifies that its in-tank filter/regulator assembly is required to achieve the advertised maximum horsepower capability. The fuel pump lock-ring tool is not included. Certain European-spec vehicles may also require reuse of the original top hat because of emissions-system differences.
Whether you are upgrading an E85 street car or building a 1,000+ WHP BMW, the Precision Raceworks Bucketed Performance Fuel Pump provides a scalable fueling foundation that can be upgraded as your build evolves.

Great pump for the money. Fitment was good and the installation was pretty straightforward.
Really happy with this upgrade. My E82 starts and idles normally, and I have much more confidence in the fuel system now.
Bought this while upgrading the fuel system on my E90. The bucketed design made the installation much cleaner than piecing everything together separately. Everything fit properly and the pump has been reliable so far.
Solid construction and good overall quality. I installed it as part of a larger setup and haven't had any issues with fuel pressure or drivability. Exactly what I was looking for.
Easy install, good fitment, and the car runs great. No complaints so far. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade for an E9x/E8x build
