A direct-fit stainless steel downpipe for the M47-powered 320d and 120d, replacing the factory primary cat and downpipe in one piece on cars that left the factory with a catalytic converter rather than a DPF. If yours had a DPF from new, this one will not fit, so check with us first if you are not certain.
The gain comes from geometry as much as decatting. The standard part forces the exhaust through a sharp bend into a restrictive, heat-soaked cat; this swaps that for a smooth bend that spools the turbo sooner and keeps heat out of the engine bay. Cooler turbo temperatures carry straight through to lower intake temperatures, which means a cleaner burn and headroom for a higher-power remap that can be run safely while the turbo stays cool. The result is sharper response with less lag right across the rev range, and typically around 2 mpg better economy depending on how you drive.
It is built to outlast the car: 316 marine-grade stainless for the pipework and 304-grade for the flexible coupling, developed off the genuine BMW item and then opened up on flow where possible. The only change you will hear is a faint turbo whistle from the de-restricted intake side, the exhaust note itself stays the same.

Went for this on the 120d because the decat sits right off the turbo, so it helps earlier in the system. Solid build, lined up to the stock exhaust, ran a map alongside and it's bang on
Had it fitted with a remap on the 318d, shop said it a clean straight fit to the turbo flange. Pulls better and no light with the tune sorting the sensors
Freed the diesel up, fit well, no complaints
Dithered between a decat pipe and a full downpipe, but replacing the section off the turbo made more sense for flow. Direct fit, just check your local rules first
Slow to arrive is the only niggle, came packed fine and bolted up without issue once here
