Modular Fuel Filter: Customizable Input, Output, and Filtration

The Precision Raceworks modular fuel filter is a build-it-your-way inline filtration kit rather than a fixed part. It arrives as a set of interchangeable caps and elements, so you choose the input, the output, and the micron rating that match your fuel system's layout and power goals. Every component is CNC-machined from anodized aluminum for lasting durability, and the complete assembly runs happily on all blends of pump gas and E85. A universal billet mounting bracket comes in the box, keeping the install clean and secure in any engine bay or underbody location.

Choose Your Configuration

The kit is genuinely modular, so you mix and match the caps and the element to assemble the exact filter your build calls for. Because these modular fuel filters are cap-based, you can reconfigure the same body later instead of buying a whole new unit when your setup changes.

Input Cap Options

  • AN8 ORB input
  • Dual AN6 inputs
  • AN6 input with regulated AN6 return, including a 4, 5, or 6 BAR static regulator
  • AN6 input to AN6 output, no regulator
  • Dual 7.89 mm quick connect input with regulated return

Output Cap Options

  • AN8 ORB output
  • AN8 ORB output with integrated check valve
  • Flat cap with no output, for use with a regulated input cap

Filter Element Options

  • 6 micron, made in the USA, recommended for post-pump or pre-rail filtration
  • 10 micron, made in the USA, ideal for pre-pump or general system filtration

Ready for E85 and Pump Gas

Every cap and the body are anodized for real E85 fuel filter duty, so ethanol will not corrode the aluminum or attack the finish over time. Run straight pump gas one month, and a corn blend the next: because fuel filters assembled from these parts share the same hardware, there is no second housing to buy when your tune switches fuels.

On a BMW Build

The universal bracket and AN porting make this an easy BMW E85 fuel filter upgrade, dropping neatly into a Z4, the E85 chassis, or any BMW running braided lines and an uprated pump. In place of a bulky, often discontinued factory canister, you get modern, serviceable filtration you can size to the exact micron rating your injectors want.

Key Features

  • Modular design, so you assemble the exact filter your system needs
  • Every component anodized for E85 compatibility
  • Filter element made in the USA, in 6 or 10 micron
  • Universal billet aluminum mounting bracket included

Why It Works on the Track

Because the caps decide how fuel enters and leaves, you can place regulation, a check valve, or a simple pass-through exactly where the plumbing needs it, without adding separate fittings that create more leak points. That flexibility is what makes the kit as at home on a hard-driven street car as it is on a track build, where clean, well-sized filtration keeps high-flow injectors protected lap after lap.

FAQ

What does "modular" mean for this fuel filter?
A modular filter uses a reusable housing with a replaceable internal element, instead of being a sealed throwaway unit. Many designs also let you configure the fittings or filter media to suit your setup.
What micron rating does it filter to, and can I change it?
The micron rating sets how fine it filters, and modular designs often let you swap elements for a coarser or finer level. Check the listed rating and available elements to match your fuel system's needs.
Why choose a modular filter over a sealed disposable one?
A modular filter lets you renew just the element and keep the housing, which cuts waste over time. A sealed disposable unit is simpler but has to be thrown away completely at every change.
How often should the filter element be replaced?
Element life depends on fuel quality and how much debris your system sees, not a fixed mileage. Inspecting it regularly and changing it when flow drops or it looks dirty is the safe approach.
Is this universal, or made for a specific vehicle?
Whether it fits directly depends on its fittings and mounting versus your fuel lines. Confirm the connection sizes and available space in your setup before assuming a direct fit.
Is it suitable for different fuels like ethanol blends?
Compatibility with ethanol blends and other fuels comes down to the housing and seal materials. Check the specification for the fuels it is rated to handle before use.
