At higher power levels, one of the first limitations encountered on virtually all turbocharged BMW engines is the fuel supply system.
One of the most cost-effective and efficient upgrades is improving the low-pressure fuel pump (LPFP), which delivers fuel from the tank to the high-pressure fuel pump in the engine bay.
Product Overview
The Stage 1 Low-Pressure Fuel Pump (LPFP) Upgrade Kit offered here is based on a genuine Walbro 255 (GSL392) inline fuel pump, which is installed in series with the factory fuel pump. This configuration increases the overall fuel flow by approximately 50%.

Our Recommendation
Before upgrading, we recommend verifying the performance of the factory fuel pump by reviewing an MHD data log and monitoring the Low Pressure Fuel Pump parameter.
If fuel pressure drops significantly below 60 PSI (approximately 4 bar) under full load, the factory pump should either be replaced or upgraded to our Stage 2 LPFP kit.
